Digital Deep Sea has incorporated additional functionality to their CLA1000, class A AIS transponder. One of the features of a class A is the ability to program the vessels destination port, ETA and number of passengers on board. This often time consuming task is normally done through the CLA1000 keyboard and display, but to make things easier and quicker, Digital Deep Sea is now including free PC programming and AIS viewing software.
Digital Deep Sea, the Bristol-based manufacturer of marine electronic products has launched a new commercial grade AIS receiver designed for integration with onboard PCs, ECDIS or chart plotter systems. It features an industry standard NMEA0183 output together with a USB PC connection and has a built in multiplexer to allow other onboard NMEA data to be combined with the AIS information and consolidated as a single feed to other equipment.
